Easter Project p2: Deconstructing

Deconstruction in fashion can be defined  as garments that are unfinished, falling apart or reassembled. Its goes against the tradition methods of fashion design. Looking at fashion in a more contemporary way. As opposed to the sleek and elegant cut of tailoring deconstructing garments is still a highly accepted way of designing garments in the fashion industry.

Yohji Yamamoto  S/S 08
Yamamoto deconstructed masculine suits by hacking off their sleeves and cinching jackets with decorative bands, or removing their back panels and replacing them with long braids of shredded fabric. Less severe were the floral-printed pantaloons, draped dresses and flowing skirts with pockets concealed in the waistband.
