Fashion Elective Week One
For my project i chose the word Spire/Strength/Structure.
I used flowers as my inspiration for the spire.
I then started pulling shapes from the images that i drew to create looks on the maniquin.

Wall of patterned legs
I wanted to replicate the circular casts in rectangular form and multiply them by re-casting them. i then placed them one on top of the other like in that of the church
I then washed the excess clay off them with a power hose carefully as to not disintergrate them or snap them in half.
I then experimented by photocopying them and creating a much larger scale by doubling them in size.

More casts using toy soldiers and colour experimentation
I wanted to add colour to the cast so i started by adding arylic paint to the plaster moluld however this method of pigmenting the plaster was costly as the plaster had set before I could achieve the level of colour that i wanted.
Some of the plaster broke as it was made too thin but the cracks made a nice effect
The result of this colour was very dull and grey like so i decide to use a resin pigment as the smallest amount was highly pigmented and i was able to achieve the dark colour of the toy soldiers at minimal effort.
The results from the redin pigment were much more satisfactory than that of the acrylic.
